2026 California Primary Election - June 2, 2026
Who can vote? A United States citizen and a resident of California who is 18 years old or older on Election Day.
2026 Key Dates and Deadlines
- May 4 - Ballots will begin to be mailed.
- May 5 - Ballot drop-off locations open.
- May 18 - Last day to register to vote in for the June 2, 2026, Primary Election.
- May 23 - Select Vote Centers open.
- May 30 - All Vote Centers open.
- June 2 - Last day to vote in-person or return a ballot by 8:00 p.m. Polls are open from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Vote-by-mail ballots must be postmarked no later than June 2. If mailing on Elections Day, get a hand-stamped postmark from a postal employee inside a United States Post Office.
